Welcome to the website of the Richmond Police Department, which provides law enforcement services to the Town of Richmond, Rhode Island, comprised of 40-square-miles of land area and approximately 8,000 residents.  This site was created to familiarize residents and visitors with the Richmond Police Department's personnel, activity, and to provide useful information through it's content and associated links.

The Richmond Police Department just completed their 2014 Police Officer Recruitment Process, and will be hiring three (3) new officers, two of whom will replace vacant patrol positions, and one who shall increase the Department's full compliment to fourteen (14) sworn officers.  Officers Ryan Donohue and Michael Jacome successfully completed a rigorous 22-week law enforcement training program at the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy, and began working on patrol in Richmond on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2014.  

The Department is also staffed with one (1) full-time Animal Control officer, three (3) full-time dispatchers, one (1) full-time administrative assistant, and several part-time Animal Control and Dispatch personnel.
