 Welcome to our Department's Home Page...

Welcome to the website for the Richmond Police Department, which provides law enforcement services to the Town of Richmond, Rhode Island, comprised of over 40 square miles of land area and a population of approximately 8,000 people.  This site was created to familiarize residents and visitors with the Richmond Police Department, it's personnel, activity, and to provide useful information through the site's content and associated links. 

The Richmond Police Department is staffed with 13 sworn officers (listed under the personnel tab), 1 Animal Control Officer, 3 full-time Dispatchers, 4 Reserve Officers, along with several part-time dispatchers and part-time animal control personnel.

The Department Fleet is made up of eight (8) marked patrol cars, three (3) unmarked vehicles, two (2) military surplus Humvee trucks (for storm patrol), and one (1) marked animal control van.


IN RHODE ISLAND, YOU CAN BE STOPPED IF YOUR ARE DRIVING WITHOUT WEARING YOUR SEATBELT... THE FINE IS $85.00 BUT THERE CAN BE A MUCH HIGHER PRICE TO PAY.  CRASHES ARE SUDDEN AND UNFORSEEN.  WEARING YOUR SEATBELT IS THE SINGLE BEST THING YOU CAN DO TO KEEP SAFE AND STAY ALIVE.
