The Richmond Police Department shall forge reliable partnerships with all local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in order to maintain effective communication and collaboration to ensure the best possible protection to the people in Richmond and their respective property.


The Twenty for 2020

On June 25, 2020, Chief Elwood Johnson of the Richmond Police Department signed a pledge with other member agencies of the RI Police Chiefs' Association at the launch of the Twenty for 2020 Campaign, to offer this department's steadfast support of the attached list of 20 principles and promises to all Rhode Islanders to emphasize our efforts towards enhancing transparency, better communication, and ensuring protection of human rights.
